Meet NICOLAS & MATHIAS who are two of our amazing Expert Tour Leaders

Nicolas is French and arrived in Shanghai in 2008 after spending 15 years in Taiwan where he worked as a journalist. During this long stay, he also constitutes what has become today one of the largest private collections of Taiwanese Aboriginal art, with 250 pieces bought all over the world.

Nicolas is also our latest addition to the Culture Shock Management team!

He has been leading cultural and historical tours since 2014 now and his way of lecturing about the city is a real proof of love and passion.

Mathias is a French renowned professional photographer and history fan who has been working in Shanghai since 2005. His photographies are mostly about architectures and landscapes but he also does some portraits and knows how to play with light!

Mathias is passionate about architecture and loves the modern Shanghai as much as the historical and old Shanghai: He loves spending time "pushing doors" and exploring the unknown and always has his camera or his drone with him!

Mathias likes to show people treasures of Shanghai through his creative vision and to surprise them the same way he was surprised when he discovered all these secrets and archives.
